The model married her boyfriend, Peter Bakker last weekend in a lavish three day ceremony at Hotel Byblos in St. Tropez, complete with over 200 guests. Riccardo Tisci had the honor of dressing Natasha for her wedding day, as she chose an elegant Givenchy gown which paired well with the white flowers in her hair. Model: Lindsey Wixon's Dream Prom Dress

In September, Modelinia had an interview with Lindsey Wixson where they talked prom, high school, and dates while backstage at the Oscar de la Renta show. In between hair and makeup, Lindsey admitted to Modelinia that her dream designer for her prom dress is Jason Wu. Shortly after that interview, Wu's design team reached out to Lindsey that they would be happy to design the up and coming model's prom dress. Now that prom season is here, we finally get to see the dress! On Saturday night, the model became the best dressed at her prom. Lindsey celebrated in her dream gown, a bright blue off the shoulder dress. Classy and elegant, yet totally age appropriate.

Vogue Branding

Anna Wintour is undoubdetly the most influential person in America for the fashion world. She is the Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue and has the last say on what’s hot and what’s not, what designer to watch, and which models will be the stars of the season. Wintour was recently released this quote to WSJ Magazine: “With all the new media outlets out there, with all the noise, a voice of authority and calm like Vogue becomes more important than ever. The more eyes on fashion, the more opinions about fashion, and the more exploration of fashion around the world, the better it is for Vogue. Vogue is like Nike or Coca-Cola—this huge global brand. I want to enhance it, I want to protect it, and I want it to be part of the conversation.” There you have it, Anna and Vogue are here to stay as the powerhouses of fashion.

Trend: Color-blocking

Color-blocked looks at Gucci SS11

Color-blocking was obviously the trend to watch this year. Some see this as a reaction against all the camel and beige from fall, or maybe further back to the nudes of last spring. One thing is for sure: we had it coming. Every designer you can think of has embraced the trend completely. Diane Von Furstenberg, Jil Sander, Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, and Peter Som have all accepted the trend. The designer that has taken things further is Marc Jacobs whose collection was disco inspired with blocks of pink, orange, and purple all worn together. Even the hair at his show was color-blocked; the models were given orange and purple extensions. And then there was Gucci, where one look consisted of green harem pants, a purple tank top, and a tangerine jackets worn all at once. In my opinion, color-blocked separates are a safe investment because you can always wear one bright piece next season with a muted base.

PFW: Top Trends

Video: Best of Paris Fashion Week ss11
In this year’s Paris Fashion Week, there were 3 clear winners on trends for the upcoming season:
-Transparency: from Comme des Garcons to Mugler, it has appeared in almost every version imaginable. Sheer tops? Check. Skirts? Check. Pants? Check. There’s no hiding behind these clothes.
-Capes: fashion has its own caped heroines this season, and they are elegant, neat, and entrance making.
-Graphic black and white: Some things can be as clean and simple as black and white. Whether it’s a print to add interest to a simple silhouette, a geometric patchwork, or a simple black on white outfit, the color combination was a major theme on the Paris runways, even though the exact opposite (neon color blocking) was a trend in New York.

Trend: Fashionable Workout Wear

With every new season, gyms everywhere see their membership grow. In the past, exercising often meant that fashion had to be sacrificed but these days people can work towards a supermodel’s body in clothes models would actually approve of. Brands are noticing the desire of many woman to ditch their old sweatpants and college t-shirts and put on something they aren’t embarrassed to be seen in public wearing. Many sportswear brands are even looking to runway trends. Stella McCartney’s new Swim, Run and Weekend collections for Adidas, and also independent labels Sweaty Betty, Casall, Play by Sarah Reilly and So Low all pick up on this season’s trends like wide stripes and boldly clashing colors. Some sportswear brands are even going as far as copying certain designers. So Low has said they took major inspiration in their laser-printed patterns from the runway shows of Christopher Cane and Marios Schwab. Sweaty Betty also features a selection of palazzo pants, a major look on this season’s runways at Marc Jacobs. Adding to the fashionable workout wear frenzy is the amount of celebrities following the trend. Gwyneth Paltrow and Kim Kardashian are seen hitting the streets in their workout clothes long after class has ended. It is obvious; everyone will soon be wearing exercise clothes that they can easily transition into street clothes.

Academy Awards: Anne Hathaway's Wardrobe Changes

Anne Hathaway had a fabulous Oscars wardrobe with fantastic changes throughout the show. Styled by Rachel Zoe, here are her looks of the evening
1. Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown, Tiffany Jewelry and Brian Atwood pumps.
2. Custom tux by Lanvin with Tiffany jewels and Brian Atwood heels.
3. Vivian Westwood Couture gown, Tiffany yellow sapphire and diamond ring and Jimmy Choo Platforms.
4. Oscar de la Renta sequined dress, Tiffany jewelry and Jimmy Choos.
5. Atelier Versace burgundy silk chiffon dress, Tiffany jewels and Casadei pumps.
6. Giorgio Armani Prive custom satin gown with Armani Prive heels.
7. Tom Ford embellished dress and sandals, Tiffany jewels.

Academy Awards: Worst Dressed Women

I have 5 ladies gracing my list of Worst Dressed. While these women are talented, their red carpet efforts were not note worthy. The five women securing spots on my worst dressed list include Mandy Moore, Melissa Leo, Florence Welch, Helena Bonham Carter, and Scarlett Johansson. Mandy Moore looks too stiff in that dress; it looks like she can’t move her arms comfortably, and i absolutely HATE ill-fitting dresses. Melissa Leo just looks like she flung an antique table cloth over her shoulders. Florence Welch looks washed out in her white gown that looks like her grandmother's wedding dress. Helena Bonham Carter is just a mess, as always. And finally, Scarlett Johansson looks like she’s trying too hard to not care. Messy hair is NOT okay for the Oscars. Better luck next year, ladies.

Sunday

Academy Awards: Best Dressed Women

Along with winners in the actual show, there were also clear winners in the fashion department of the Academy Awards. The first clear winner was shown on Natalie Portman. The actress received the honor of Best Lead Actress this evening and accepted her award in Rodarte. The gown was a deep plum off the shoulder cut that perfectly showcased her new baby bump. The next fashion winner of the evening was Gwenyth Paltrow who stunned in a Calvin Klein, silver, column gown. The next stunner was Reese Witherspoon who went with a retro look in a strapless, black and white, vintage Christian Dior creation. Last but definitely not least, Mila Kunis. She was the best dressed of the evening by FAR in a lavender lace Elie Saab gown.

Academy Awards: Worst Dressed Men

Adding to the horrible white tie situation below, many other men of the evening could really benefit from a change in stylist for their next award show. The first man to mention: Russell Brand. Brand arrived in a navy suit with black lapels and a black tie. The worst parts of the outfit were his details. His shirt was a plaid of the same navy and black of his suit and his pants were far to skinny for a formal occasion. Next on the offending list is Darren Afonosky. Afonosky landed a spot on my list for a personal reason, his tie is floppy. I personally prefer a straight bow tie with some structure. My last offender of the evening is Christian Bale. He needs to shave his beard immediately. This is the Oscars, not a camping weekend.

Academy Awards: White Ties

The men of the 83rd annual Academy Awards have made many fashion faux pas this evening. The first round was shown when both Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. presented the award for Film Editing and Visual Effect in matching white ties. The Oscars is a black tie event, the men shouldn't stray from the dress code. Jude Law is wearing a traditional Gucci tuxedo with a bow tie and Robert Downey Jr. is wearing a less traditional take on the white tie in a navy Tom Ford suit.

Yet another new model has come into the spotlight at New York Fashion Week, Bo Don. She has taken the presentations and shows by storm, and this is her first New York Fashion Week. NYFW: Extreme Runways

Models and Ice Skaters at Elise Overland
This season, some designers have taken a different approach to just having models walk down a runway to showcase their clothing. Elise Overland chose for her models to hit the ice in her clothes. Models stood in an iceskating rink at the Standard Hotel New York while professional ice skaters spun around them. Everyone on the ice was dressed head to toe in Elise Overland. At Kaelen, models rode mechanical bulls. At Band of Outsiders, male models were lowered from the ceiling attached to harnesses before walking the runway.

NYFW: Arizona Muse

With fashion week, there are always a new batch of standouts who appear again and again on the runways. This year, it has been Arizona Muse. She is from Sante Fe, New Mexico and is known this season for her thick eyebrows. As the new face of both Yves Saint Laurent and Prada campaigns, this Next Models newcomer is drawing major attention. So far this season, she has opened shows for Preen, BCBG, Prada, Miu Miu, Valentino, Elie Saab,Chanel couture, and Derek Lam. Muse has also been seen on the runways of Bill Blass, Marc Jacobs, Herve Leger, Narciso Rodriguez, and Proenza Schouler. Muse has modeled since 2008, but took the 2009 season off to give birth to her son, Nikko. She has appeared in editorials for Chinese Vogue, French Vogue, British Vogue, American Vogue, and W.
